    Please read the guide below and let us know which type of measurement you are providing:

    Roman Blind Recess Size

    Recess Size

    If you want to fit your blind within the window recess as shown above, please provide us with Recess Size measurements.

    To do this you will need to measure inside the window recess from wall to wall for the width and from ceiling to window sill for the drop.

    You should take the measurements three times to make sure you get the most accurate sizes - at the top, at the middle and at the bottom for the width and at the top, the middle and the right for the drop.

    Please give us the smallest of the three measurements for both the width and the drop.

    Make sure you do not make any reductions from these sizes yourself. We'll make your blinds slightly smaller on the width than the sizes you give us to make sure that it fits into the space with enough room for it to be installed easily, while still covering as much of the window as possible.

    If you want to fit your blind outside of the window recess we recommend adding at least 10cm onto the width and 10cm onto the drop. This will give you a 5cm overlap at each edge to help minimise light leakage.

    Measuring Instructions

    Always take your measurements with a steel tape measure to ensure you get accurate readings. Fabric tape measures can stretch and provide false sizes.

    Don't forget to check your measurements two or three times to make sure your blinds will be made to the correct size!

    Sheer blinds are often teamed with another window dressing for added versatility, usually with a blackout curtain to allow complete privacy and light blockage when required.     • To order a recess size blind enter the wall to wall measurement at the smallest point of your window for width and drop. Our factory will make a 1cm reduction to ensure your blind fits into this space.

    • An exact blind size is the finished size of the blind. The head rail and fabric will be the same width.

    I had a problem with the electric motor on one blind and was guided through the troubleshooting by Stacey who very patiently talked me through the problems which were largely due to my own installation. The problem appears to have been solved and has probably stopped the whole thing crashing down. I found the team to be very knowledgable and helpful and was advised that if there was a further problem not to hesitate to contact them.
